Local Electeds, Advocates & Constituents to hold SOS Town Hall on Affordability Crisis in Harrisburg, Demand Accountability from Rep. Scott Perry
Harrisburg, PENNSYLVANIA — As families in the capital region struggle with the rising costs of health care, gas, groceries, and other basic necessities, PA-0 constituents, local elected officials, and advocates will gather on Thursday, August 20th at 6:00 PM in Harrisburg for an Affordability Crisis SOS Town Hall focused on the impact of federal policies supported by Congressman Scott Perry.
The town hall will feature firsthand stories from PA-10 residents alongside local elected and community leaders, connecting decisions made in Washington to the economic pressures families are experiencing across Dauphin, Cumberland, and York counties.
Last summer, Congressman Scott Perry voted for historic cuts to Medicaid and SNAP, ripping away health care and food assistance from hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians to fund tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires. Perry has also supported President Trump’s tariffs and expensive war in Iran, which are driving up costs across the board for Pennsylvanians. Working Pennsylvanians have paid more than $3,900 a year because of these policies supported by Congressman Scott Perry.
Thursday’s event will give PA-10 residents an opportunity to tell their own stories about rising costs and demand answers from their congressional representative.

WHY: While working people are drowning in costs, our elected leaders need to hear their cries for help. Folks are under water and struggling to afford basic necessities. This community conversation is an opportunity to share why this is an SOS moment for capital region families, and to talk about the real life, local impact of the One Big Beautiful Bill and a tax system that allows billionaires, wealthy corporations, and the ultra-rich to avoid paying their fair share while working families bear the cost. If Congressman Perry will not come to the table to answer his constituents, PA-10 residents are setting one for him.
